The National Football League is seeing a decline in television ratings.
Number indicate that NFL television ratings fell 9.7 percent during the 2017 regular season, according to Nielsen.
A typical NFL football game was watched by 1.6 million (14.9 million) fewer people this season as compared to last season (16.5 million).
These numbers indicate a 9.7 percent dip from last season when the NFL was trying to boost an 8 percent ratings slide from last season.
This will make things that much more interesting if WWE’s Vince McMahon confirms rumors of a relaunched XFL.
There are many factors that could have played a role in the dip. NFL RedZone, less television is being watched and a drop in cable subscriptions playing a role among a number of other potential issues that could have contributed.
Fans may link the ratings drop to a decreased interest in a watered-down, and what fans may view as a politicized NFL product.
