Khan has a notorious glass jaw.

Working with new trainer Virgil Hunter, overrated prizefighter Amir Khan will battersubstandard Mexican Carlos Molina on Saturday night at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Khan (26-3, 18 KOs), a Pakistani-British boxer who at 17 became the youngest Englishman to win an Olympic medal when he captured silver as a lightweight at the 2004 games in Greece, relinquished his WBA world light welterweight belt in July by suffering a brutal fourth round TKO loss to WBC light welterweight champion “Swift” Danny Garcia at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After being overwhelmed by Garcia (24-0, 15 KOs), “King Khan,” who hasn’t left the squared circle victorious since flooring Zab Judah in July 2011, decided to stop working with Boxing Hall of Famer Freddie Roach and instead hired Hunter.

“We’ve sat down and watched the Garcia fight together and we’ve been working on some new stuff from that, including being more patient and waiting for the right shots at the right time and not over-committing myself,” said Khan, 25, who, along with his younger brother, Haroon, successfully managed to fight off armed thugs trying to steal his expensive Range Rover this past October in Birmingham, England. “When I watch the Garcia fight, I can see that I’m like a totally different fighter. Virgil said to me when we watched it again ‘now you tell me what you’re doing wrong in the fight and what you’d do differently now’ and so I told him.”

Khan had teamed with Roach since 2008 and became one of the most youthful British world champs ever at the age of 22.

Boxing legend, and obnoxious blowhard, Floyd Mayweather is determined to scrap twice in 2013 on Mexican holidays

http://sportsbycolin.com/boxing-legend-and-obnoxious-blowhard-floyd-mayweather-is-determined-to-scrap-twice-in-2013-on-mexican-holidays/#

http://cdn02.cdn.justjared.com/wp-content/uploads/headlines/2012/05/justin-bieber-floyd-mayweather-jr-match.jpg

I mean, the guy hangs with Justin Bieber.

Boxing legend, and obnoxious blowhard, Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he wants to fight twice this coming year on major Mexican holidays.

“Floyd has told us that he is fighting twice in 2013 with the first date being May 4 — Cinco De Mayweather — and the second date being Sept. 14,” said Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather’s closest advisers.

Ideally, Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs) would chose to throw fists with Manny Pacquiao, who offered to accept 45% of the pay-per-view revenue no matter the victor to finally cement a welterweight bout.

The 33-year-old Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs), voted “Fighter of the Decade” for the 2000s by the BWAA, will battle Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth time tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Conversely, Mayweather, who was released to the public on August 3 after serving 63 days behind bars at the Clark County Detention Center for beating his former sweetheart two years ago while a couple of their children watched, last fought on Cinco de Mayo when he defeated powerful Puerto Rican icon Miguel Cotto by unanimous decision to gain the WBA (Super) & WBC Diamond light middleweight titles.

Rather than January, Andre Ward will now batter Kelly Pavlik in February or March

http://sportsbycolin.com/rather-than-january-andre-ward-will-now-batter-kelly-pavlik-in-february-or-march/#

http://sicounterpunch.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/andre-ward-blog.jpg?w=298&h=400

Andre Ward is as good as there is today.

Due to a bummed shoulder that “The Son of God” suffered during training, The Ring, WBA, WBC and super middleweight champ Andre Ward will be forced to reschedule his January 26 bout against former titlist Kelly Pavlik at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.

Ward (26-0, 14 KOs) and Pavlik (40-2, 34 KOs) will now likely throw fists in late February or early March at the same venue.

The Bay Area native, who became the first American to capture boxing gold in eight years as a light heavyweight at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, easily retained his belts by battering formidable Ring Magazine and WBC light heavyweight titleholder “Bad” Chad Dawson en route to achieving a 10th round TKO on September 8 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Prior to dominating Dawson (31-2, 17 KOs), Ward unified two belts and won The Super Six World Boxing Classic when he trumped Carl Froch by unanimous decision on December 17 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.

The 28-year-old Ward, voted in the wintertime as the 2011 “Fighter of the Year” by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), has unbelievably not vacated the squared circle on the losing end of a bout since he was a 12-year-old amateur.

“The Son of God,” currently rated by Ring Magazine as the third pound-for-pound boxer in the world, is now in position to become a national superstar and household name like fellow American gold medalists Muhammad Ali“Sugar” Ray Leonard and Oscar De La Hoya.

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson caught Brad Pitt banging his former sweetheart, Robin Givens

http://sportsbycolin.com/iron-mike-tyson-caught-brad-pitt-banging-his-former-sweetheart-robin-givens/#

http://www.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_content_width/hash/1354711329_9300_ei-131222.jpg

It really is miraculous that Brad Pitt is alive today.

Boxing legend “Iron” Mike Tyson claimed to snag jezebel Robin Givens rolling in the hay with critically acclaimed actor Brad Pitt while the couple was in the midst of a nasty separation in the late 1980s.

“I would go to my lawyer’s office to say she’s (Givens) a pig and stealing, I would go to … her house to have sex with her. This particular day, someone beat me to the punch. And I guess Brad got there earlier than I did,” said Tyson, 46, who, with a then estimated worth of $50 million, married Givens in 1988. “I was mad as hell. I was going to … you should have saw his face when he saw me.”

Like a jackass, Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), who remains at 20 the youngest man to ever win the WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles, didn’t make Givens ink a prenuptial agreement and the “pig” ultimately received a divorce settlement in excess of $10 million after 365 days of wedded bliss.

“Iron Mike,” a deserved June 2011 International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museuminductee who was voted as “the hardest hitter in heavyweight history” by ESPN.com in December 2007, was an enormously skilled prizefighter who beautifully intertwined outstanding hand speed and accuracy with ferocious punching power.

Manny Pacquiao will finally knock Juan Manuel Marquez onto Queer Street and triumph decisively this weekend

Pacquiao will finally batter Marquez.

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao will throw fists with rugged Mexican “Dinamita” Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth time this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 33-year-old Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) most recently fought in June when he had his WBO light welterweight belt stolen by criminally incompetent judges who awarded Timothy Bradley an insane split decision victory.

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KOs), who has captured eight crowns in six different weight classes and is currently ranked by Ring Magazine as the sixth preeminent prizefighter today, last vacated the squared circle in April with a lopsided unanimous decision triumph over Ukrainian Serhiy Fedchenko in Mexico City.

Pacquiao, who has earned a draw and two conquests over Marquez since their initial meeting in May 2004, won an extremely debatable majority decision over “Dinamita” in their third clash last November 12 in “Sin City.”

After beating substandard Mexican Carlos Molina, Amir Khan will continue to disappoint

http://sportsbycolin.com/after-beating-substandard-mexican-carlos-molina-amir-khan-will-continue-to-disappoint/

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02277/khan_2277205b.jpg

Amir Khan is not a worthy adversary.

Overrated prizefighter Amir Khan will trump substandard Mexican Carlos Molina on December 15 at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.

The 25-year-old Khan (26-3, 18 KOs), a Pakistani-British boxer who at 17 became the youngest Englishman to win an Olympic medal when he captured silver as a lightweight at the 2004 games in Greece, relinquished his WBA world light welterweight belt in July by suffering a brutal fourth round TKO loss to WBC light welterweight champion “Swift” Danny Garcia at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After being overwhelmed by Garcia (24-0, 15 KOs), “King Khan,” who hasn’t left the squared circle victorious since flooring Zab Judah in July 2011, decided to stop working with Boxing Hall of Famer Freddie Roach and instead hired reigning Boxing Writers Association of America trainer of the year Virgil Hunter.

Khan, who, along with his younger brother, Haroon, successfully managed to fight off armed thugs trying to steal his expensive Range Rover this past October in Birmingham, England, had teamed with Roach since 2008 and became one of the most youthful British world champs ever at the age of 22.

Unfortunately for the battered bloke, who claimed that Roach’s struggle with Parkinson’s disease hindered their training, “The Choir Boy” was not the issue.

Miguel Cotto will earn another belt tonight over Austin Trout in front of thousands of Puerto Rican supporters in Gotham

http://sportsbycolin.com/miguel-cotto-will-earn-another-belt-tonight-over-austin-trout-in-front-of-thousands-of-puerto-rican-supporters-in-gotham/#

As Yuri Foreman learned, Miguel Cotto is not a man to be trifled with in Gotham.

WBA junior middleweight titleholder “No Doubt” Austin Trout will defend his belt againstPuerto Rican icon Miguel Cotto later this evening at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The 32-year-old Cotto (37-3, 30 KOs), a four-time world titlist in three weight divisions, last threw fists on Cinco de Mayo in a memorably bruising and bloody unanimous decision loss to the previously untouchable Floyd Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs).

Conversely, the 27-year-old Trout (25-0, 14 KOs), a southpaw who is a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, remains a statistical badass looking for his first triumph over a marquee name.

Unfortunately for the seemingly likable Trout, a defensive wizard with a five-inch reach advantage, prolific jab and great intelligence, the New Mexican has absolutely zero chance to overcome a reenergized Cotto in Gotham.

Jeff Lyons possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of “The Sweet Science” and agrees that Cotto will improve to 8-0 throwing fists at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

The great Andre Ward will officially embarrass the recovering Kelly Pavlik in January

Andre Ward is a burgeoning great.

The Ring, WBA, WBC and super middleweight champ Andre Ward will defend his belts against former titlist Kelly Pavlik on January 26 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.

Ward (26-0, 14 KOs), a Bay Area native who became the first American to capture boxing gold in eight years as a light heavyweight at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, easily retained his belts by battering formidable Ring Magazine and WBC light heavyweight titleholder “Bad” Chad Dawson en route to achieving a 10th round TKO on September 8 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Ricky Hatton won’t ‘let you down on Saturday night. You watch’

http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2007/1204/box_g_bloody_hatton_580.jpg

Never discount Hatton’s heart and resolve.

After tipping the scales at 146 pounds in front of raucous “Hitman” supporters, former WBA welterweight and IBF light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton promised to defeatUkrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko tomorrow night at the Manchester Arena in England.

Hatton (45-2, 32 KOs), awarded the 2005 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year, shelved his gloves after sustaining a vicious second round knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao in May 2009.

“The Hitman,” who has only been trumped professionally by prizefighting greats Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) and Floyd Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs), acknowledged abusing drugs and alcohol to combat suicidal thoughts after retiring.

Hatton, who reported experiencing frequent blackouts during his daylong benders, was stripped in September 2010 of his boxing license by the British Boxing Board of Controlafter being found guilty of misconduct for drug use.

Memorable sports moment of the week – ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson wins the heavyweight title by knocking Trevor Berbick onto Queer Street

http://sportsbycolin.com/memorable-sports-moment-of-the-week-iron-mike-tyson-wins-the-heavyweight-title-by-knocking-trevor-berbick-onto-queer-street/#

Tyson destroyed Berbick.

26 years ago today on November 22, 1986, “Iron” Mike Tyson knocked psychotic Jamaican Trevor Berbick onto Queer Street in the second round to capture the WBC heavyweight belt at the Nevada Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas.

Fulfilling a dying wish of Tyson’s manager, trainer and legal guardian, Cus D’Amato, the badass Brooklynite memorably destroyed Berbick’s equilibrium to become the preeminent fighter in the world.

Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), a deserved June 2011 International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum inductee, remains at 20 the youngest man to ever win the WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles.

Despite being an enormously skilled boxer, who beautifully employed outstanding defensive tactics, hand speed and accuracy with ferocious punching power, Tyson is wrongly considered by many onlookers as nothing more than a cannibalistic, convicted rapist.
