Roger, please, just go away!

With 50-year-old Roger Clemens scheduled to start for the Sugar Land Skeeters on Saturday night against the Bridgeport Bluefish at Constellation Field, speculation is mounting that the notorious flamethrower will play for the Astros in nearby Houston once rosters expand in September.

“His fastball was clocked at 87 mph; all of his pitches were working,” said Randy Hendricks, Clemens’ agent. “He threw a three-inning simulated game after an extensive workout warm-up.”

Goose Gossage compared the Roger Clemens verdict to the O.J. Simpson ruling.

2008 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Goose Gossage said during an interview onESPN Radio’s “The Michael Kay Show” that notorious flamethrower Roger Clemens should not receive a future ticket to Cooperstown, New York.

Clemens, an adulterer who allegedly began banging country music singer Mindy McCreadywhen she was a sickening 15 years of age, last week was wrongly found not guilty on all six counts of lying to Congress in 2008 that he wasn’t a juicehead.

“Are we going to reward these guys for cheating? Even though he was found innocent, I think it was because of the bad testimony,” said Gossage, 60, a nine-time All-Star selection who compiled 124 wins, 310 saves and 1,502 strikeouts over 22 seasons as a hurler in Major League Baseball (MLB). “These guys lie, lie, lie, lie, lie. Roger, I think is in the same boat.”

The 1978 American League (AL) Rolaids Relief Man of the Year, who dominated on the mound for nine organizations while sporting his wild facial hair, compared Clemens’ verdict to the infamous ruling in “the trial of the century.”
