Broncos Unlikely to Cut CB Champ Bailey

Despite having a rough go against the Ravens in the playoffs and turning 35-years-old in June, it looks like the Denver Broncos won’t release corner-back Champ Bailey, this according to ProFootballWeekly.com
Broncos CB Champ Bailey had a performance to forget in the playoff loss to the Ravens. A CBS Sports report listed Bailey as a potential cap casualty — the future Hall of Famer is owed $9.5 million next year, in addition to a $1 million roster bonus. Despite the money owed, we hear that the Broncos have no intention of releasing Bailey. He had a Pro Bowl season — not simply by name recognition, but by his play, and cornerback is already considered a position of need for the Broncos this offseason.
While Bailey did have a good regular season, it might be time to at least try and talk contract reconstruction. The Broncos are already a team in need of depth in the corner-back position, so it may not be ideal to let Bailey go just yet, but his time is ticking with the Broncos and in the NFL in general.
