Kenyon Martin Signs 10-day Contract with NY Knicks
The New York Knicks needed another big man, and well Kenyon Martin needed a job. It looked like he was making his way to South Beach earlier in the day, but something change his course as he has now signed a 10-day contract with the Knicks according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
The veteran forward will instantly add toughness to a team that seems to lack that strong-arm presence outside of J.R Smith. Martin and the Knicks are both hoping that this deal will work and that he will stick around for the rest of the season, filling in the void of Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby who have been plagued by injuries all season.
Last season Martin average 5.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 22.3 minutes in 42 games with the Los Angeles Clippers, but issues with head coach Vinny Del Negro led to Martin not getting re-signed by the Clippers.
Martin, who was pretty open about his want to play for any NBA team in any role, will be reunited with former teammates Camby, Smith, Carmelo Anthony, and Jason Kidd.
