The Miami Heat are starting to get back to the way they were playing right before the half way mark of the season. They have a winning attitude and are winning games against tough opponents. The Heat have had a tough schedule, but in their last 6 games they have played hard and won the games they needed to win.

The Heat are trying to make the playoffs and they are capable of doing so because they have been playing so well. The Heat have a record of 31-34 sitting one game behind the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls in the loss column.

The Heat lost a tight game against the Dallas Mavericks 96-89. Every game for the Heat is a must win and this is one they let slip away. Goran Dragic had a big game scoring 24 points.

Hassan Whiteside would also have a big game having a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds. Neither team had much help from their benches, but the Mavericks starters carried the load for their team.

Seth Curry was on fire from 3-point range hitting 5-7 and scoring 29 points. Harrison Barnes also had a great game scoring 24 points in the win. The Heat would try to bounce back against the 76ers in their next game.

The Heat would have a wire-to-wire victory against the 76ers with a final score of 125-98. The Heat played well all around in a game they had to win.

The high scorer on the team was Tyler Johnson who would score 24 points coming off the bench. Wayne Ellington would also have a good game coming off the bench and scoring 18 points.

The heat starters would also have great games as well. Dragic, Whiteside, and Dion Waiters would all score 15 points each. In the next game the Heat would struggle against the Orlando Magic.

Another double-double from Whiteside would not be enough for the Heat to win against the Magic. In a 110-99 loss the Heat had trouble from the 3-point line. The team shot 28.6% from there.

All of the Magic starters were in double figures and that hurt the Heat in a big way. Aaron Gordon had a big night with a double-double scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Elfrid Payton also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat got hurt on the boards and that lead to Nikola Vucevic grabbing 9 rebounds and scoring 25 points.

In there next 3 games the Heat would play back to back games against the Cleveland Cavaliers and a game against the Charlotte Hornets. In the first game against the Cavaliers LeBron James and Kyrie Irving would sit out and the Heat would win 120-92. In their second matchup the Heat would also win that game 106-98.

In the second game Waiters would have a huge scoring night with 29 points. Four of the Heat starters would be in double figures and the Cavaliers would not be able to catch up. James and Irving would both have big games combining for 62 points, but they would be the only two players on the team in double figures.

The Heat would capture a win against the Hornets beating them 108-101. This was a big game for the Heat against a division rival. The Heat starters had a big game with four of them in double figures.

The two key players in this game were Whiteside and Dragic. Both players would have double-doubles and help their team get their 3rd straight win. The Heat are keeping themselves alive in the eastern conference and it will be a tight race until the regular season is over.
