A few times a year we take time to reflect on the things that impact our lives. But there is one day in particular that we all take the time to collectively give thanks for all that we are blessed with. With that day upon us, I wanted to take the time to share the things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.
I am grateful for the group of crazy sports fans that have helped me make SportsRantz the popular brand it has become. Without each and every one of you none of this could have ever been possible. There have been a lot of long nights, tireless days and blood, sweat and tears since the initial launch of SportsRantz.com back in April 2011 and the one thing that has kept me motivated more than anything, is the chance to do something positive.
I launched SportsRantz with a clear vision in my mind. While that vision has evolved since our launch one thing remains in tact, this incredible journey is just starting. We as a collection of sports fans can ban together for real positivity. Whether it be making new friends on the site, sharing good times at a tailgate or simply supporting each others blogs and articles it’s been rewarding to see how we can really illustrate the meaning of “community”.
I am thankful for all of you who follow us on Twitter, take time to share your thoughts and read our tweets. Regardless if you are a member of SportsRantz.com or not, the support I see on Twitter day-to-day is something that I will always value.
I am thankful for everyone who blogs on SportsRantz and those who simply go on to share your thoughts. Seeing the talent, the intelligence and the drive of each for you motivates me every day to work as hard as I can to make SportsRantz better. From Julie Buehler to Kyle Mayer and everyone in between, It would take a long time to list you all individually, so consider this my collective thank you!
For all of you who have supported and made SportsRantz Radio apart of your week/day, to every guest who has taken time to come on our airwaves, thank you!
I am thankful for SportsRantz. What started off as a few sports goons with a mic and headphones has turned into quite the popular endeavor. Kristina Chambers is someone I am particularly thankful for, seeing your talents grow and improve every single day has been gratifying. Considering you were maybe the 5th member ever on SportsRantz, you’ve stuck with this through all of our bumps in the road!
To my partner in sports talk crime, Katy Mitchel, I am thankful for you taking a chance and doing sports talk with me. Your talent, drive, intelligence and calm demeanor have taught me so much about an industry I knew nothing about going into. It never seems like you have a bad day and I’m thankful to have you by my side on the airwaves and to call you a friend.
To Kyle Turner and Matt Dahl, thank you for what you have brought to the table. Each of your talents have been an asset to the brand and for that, I am thankful for connecting with both of you.
To the folks at UnTame, Sarah and Marion Gooding, thank you for being a trusted friend of SportsRantz. I value the relationship we have had since 2010. Helping me grow my visions and ideas has been an incredible journey. Thank you for your hard work, trust and talents.
To Tia Preece and Miranda Furtado as well as the gals at BabesDigBalls, thanks for helping bring more of a female-presence to our airwaves and teaming up with us to put more of a spotlight on females talking sports. It has been a big focus and goal of mine to bring more female sports minds to the forefront both on the site and on our airwaves, having your brand aboard just helps use continue to move forward. Every one of you from Missy Deyo and every blogger in between have been a part of my regular reading. From your tweets to your blogs and simply just chatting with some of you, it’s gratifying to see talented women growing collectively. Keep it up.
As we move forward the impact of our positivity will evolve. With the strength of our community we can develop initiatives to help those in need, provide support for our animal friends and continue to give people a platform to be heard. There are no limits to what can be accomplished.
2013 is going to be a big year, a year where SportsRantz not only is a brand, but becomes a company.
Last but not least I want to thank the endless support of my friends and family who have always encouraged me to chase my crazy ideas. Some have worked, others have not, but I am truly blessed to have a strong family and friends which I can say have been my friends for over 15-20 years. To have you all in my life on a daily basis, enriches everything about my life.
The man above gets my thanks as well. I’ve had a unique path to this point, but without these blessings, there would be no journey to take.
Take the time to give back this holiday season, be it Thanksgiving or any holiday you celebrate. Be kind to one another, beyond the holidays. With so many examples of hate and cruelty in our world, it is up to us to ban together and create positivity that can be passed on for generations to come.
Take a moment and be thankful for this gift called life and look at how you can enrich others, before enriching your own.
Thank you all again! May each and every one of you have a very blessed and happy holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving,
Anthony DiMoro
