DeMarcus Cousins Critical Of Sacramento Kings Draft Strategy
New situation in Sacramento, same old DeMarcus Cousins. The Sacramento Kings are again dealing with news of Cousins, the team’s malcontent, showcasing his displeasure with something within the organization.
Last year, it was a long-standing feud with then head coach George Karl that ultimately led to Karl’s dismissal. Now, with new coaches and a renewed approach from Sacramento ownership Cousins has seemingly directed his negativity towards the Kings’ front office regarding their strategy in this year’s NBA Draft.
while speaking to reporters on Monday after Team USA’s practice in Las Vegas, Cousins was asked about Sacramento’s draft. The Kings were active throughout draft night,
trading the 8th overall pick to the Phoenix Suns for a package that included the 13th and 28th picks. The Kings selected Greek center Georgios Papagiannis at the 13th spot and former Kentucky big man Skal Labissiere with the 28th pick.
“I can’t control [the draft decisions],” Cousins said. “I control what I can control. I don’t really understand it, but I do my job.”
It was perceived that Cousines tweeted his criticism of the draft when the Kings drafted Papagiannis, a tweet Cousins said was referring to a Yoga class:

Cousins isn’t alone in his confusion regarding the Kings’ plans as they added to an already packed front court.
“I don’t really understand what’s going on,” Cousins said. “I just control what I can control.”
While the comments aren’t exactly “harsh” Cousins should ease up on his public criticism of the team he plays for and the tea, he has brought a lot of media attention to with his actions and comments.
Maybe give them a break?
