Kurt Angle On Taking Time Off, Greatest Career Achievement

2 Min Read

It’s been a hectic several weeks for former WWE & TNA superstar Kurt Angle. With rumors swirling regarding a return to WWE and Angle being pressed with questions regarding those rumors and how much longer he plans to wrestle, Angle has had his fair share of interview requests.

Angle recently spoke with The News-Democrat and talked about many things including his biggest career accomplishments.

“I get asked that question quite often” Angle said. “What was the single greatest achievement of my career? Was it winning the WWE title? Was it winning the TNA heavyweight championship? No, it was winning the Olympic Gold medal. It defined my career. It defined my life,” Angle said. “Aside from being a dad four times with a fifth one on the way, it’s the highlight.”

While Angle didn’t discuss the rumors at any great length he did shed some light on taking time off from wrestling this year.

“Wrestling professionally is a great life, but it’s also a very grueling and demanding lifestyle we as wrestlers go through. I mean we’re on the road constantly, doing between 250 to 300 shows each year. Hitting the mat as much as we do, it takes its toll on us physically.

“That’s why I said, I’m taking this year off to let my body rest and heal.”

While it is unclear just when Angle will return to the WWE he certainly has his career mapped out for the next year or so and if the rumors are true, it will lead Angle right back to a WWE ring.
