Rams’ Todd Gurley: Take Me #1 Overall In Fantasy Football

2 Min Read

If you’re looking for sound fantasy football advice then you should look no further than Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley. Gurley kindly provided some key insight on who you should select #1 overall in your fantasy draft; him.

“No. 1 overall for sure,” Gurley said when on NFL Network where he should go in fantasy drafts.

“I mean you maybe could choose AB. You maybe could choose Antonio Brown over me, but that’s about it. No body else…. Maybe Cam (Newton), that’s it. Cam and AB.”

Although it’s playful confidence it is not rooted in delusion, Gurley had an impressive rookie season. Gurley had 229 carries for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns despite missing the first 3 games of the season. That sort of production is an elite commodity in any fantasy football league.

Gurley has an impressive start to that season but suffered a dip in production once teams started stacking the box against the Rams, daring them to throw the ball.

Gurley’s first 4 games as a started resulted in some solid averages of 22.0 carries per game; 141.5 rush YPG; 6.4 yards per carry. But his last 8 games, when teams adjusted, told a different story when Gurley’s averages dipped to 16.9 carries per game; 66.4 rush YPG; 3.9 yards per carry.

Regardless, with Jared Goff under center the Rams passing attack looks to be primed for a big improvement this season and beyond. That bodes well for Gurley and any fantasy team owner that drafted him. Another BIG season for Gurley could mean big things for fantasy owners, an up to 200% bonus in statistics.
