India vs. West Indies 1st Test Match

A strong Indian side were ready for this match, against a West Indian side who are still rebuilding. The odds were definitely in the favour of India but the fighting West Indian spirit is something to admire. India were batting first and they had a strong start, with Vijay departing early but Dhawan carried on building up a partnership with Kohli as they also lost Pujara as well, amidst setting up a competitive total for West Indies to chase down in the Test match. The two Delhi boys were scoring freely and making the West Indian bowlers toil in this match. Dhawan got out on 84 runs but Kohli continued the charge he went onto score a double century. The lower order batsman scored quite a few of the  runs with Ashwin getting a well-deserved century aptly, supported by Saha and Mishra who chipped in with 40 and 53 runs respectively. India had set a mammoth total of 566 runs which West Indies needed to chase, but also build a le in order to make India bat again.

West Indies first innings didn’t go to plan, as KC Braithwaite started off strongly, but the rest of the batsman were collapsing and not really scoring the runs needed. KC Braithwaite was fighting a lone battle and he did pretty well. Dowrich and Holder adde some quick fire runs and West Indies were all out for 243 runs, and were put into bat again by India. In the second West Indian innings, they were struggling again big time. Ashwin grabbed seven wickets and lead his side to victory and West Indies had lost the 1st Test match at home. There were half centuries from Samuels and CR Braithwaite but they were in vain, and West Indies need to re-group in order to pose a challenge to this strong Indian side.

England vs. Pakistan 2nd Test Match

Pakistan would have been the confident of the two teams going into this Test match as they were leading the series.  England are one team never to be underestimated and they proved it in this Test match. With Cook and Root leading the way Cook scored a century and Root made 254 runs he got the double century which was truly well deserved he played beautifully. He was so happy as well when he hit the milestone. England racked up 589 runs and Pakistan didn’t really put up a fight in their 1st innings, and they collapsed big time they looked like a former shadow of the team who had performed so well just a couple of days earlier.

England were back in the game and they added more runs to make this a very tough game for Pakistan, and they were definitely feeling the heat. Pakistan performed better in the second innings but still it was not enough to stop the charge for England. They were dominating in this game and were truly calling the shots they definitely stepped up their game from last time. Pakistan lost this game by 330 runs and were left wondering where did they go wrong. A strong and rampant England side had secured the much needed victory.
