Knicks Derrick Rose Being Investigated By LAPD

1 Min Read

The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that it is continuing their investigation into a complaint filed against New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose but did not indicate when the case would be closed.

On August 25th, 2015 a woman filed a civil sexual assault case against Rose which alleged that Rose and two friends raped her. The woman’s suit claimed that Rose and his friends slipped a drug into her drink before committing sexual acts against her will.

Detective Nadine Hernandez said the case has been ongoing for less than a year while also stating that the exact date of the complaint filing is under seal. Detective Hernandez said Rose has not been interviewed as of yet adding that an “offer is on the table” for him to speak and that there is no timetable to conclude the investigation.

“We have to let the investigation go where it takes us,” Hernandez said.

In July of this year, a federal judge denied Rose’s motion to dismiss the case which is scheduled to start on October 4th in Los Angeles. Earlier this month, U.S. District Court Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald ruled that the woman’s identity would not be protected in the case.
