The Tale Of Two Plays Giants Beat The Ravens

4 Min Read

The Giants won a must win game and it was just in the nick of time to save their locker room and season. All of the attention that the Giants were receiving due to their bad play on the field has stopped for now. There are a few things the Giants need to do to stay hot and keep winning games.

The Giants offense started off slow yesterday and they had to make adjustments in order to start scoring. When the offense did come alive for the Giants that is when they took control of the game. This win could have reignited the fire for the Giants season.

After being down 10-0 in the first quarter the Giants needed to get their offense going, and that is when Eli Manning stepped up and started making plays. The Giants would not score until late in the second quarter, but they would cut the Ravens lead to 3 after a touchdown pass to Roger Lewis for 24 yards.

The Giants would tie the game in the third quarter off a field goal from Josh Brown from 21 yards out. The Game started to pick up in the third quarter on offense for both teams, but the Giants would be more explosive and score at will.

The Ravens would not let the Giants make the score insurmountable and they would keep it close throughout the game. The Ravens would take a 13-10 lead in the third quarter and that is when the Giants started their come back. As both teams were trading field goals one team would have to jump out ahead and that was the Giants and it only took one play.

After that Justin Tucker field goal to give the Ravens the lead it would take the Giants 12 seconds to retake the lead making the game 17-13. That big play came from a 75 yard touchdown pass from Manning to Odell Beckham Jr. and that set the Giants up for a big fourth quarter.

The Ravens kept it close by hitting an early field goal in the fourth quarter cutting the Giants lead to 1. Both teams would trade field goals and the Giants lead would increase to a 4 point lead. The Ravens would drive the ball down the field 75 yards and score a go ahead touchdown with only 2:04 remaining in the game.

The Giants are no strangers to situations like this, but the game could have gone either way especially the way the Giants offense has been playing at the end of games. The Giants had the opportunity to win and they had to use their 2 minute drill offense to do so.

Manning and Beckham Jr. were the 2 players that got the job done in the last drive. The Giants had 1:24 remaining in the game with a 4th and 1 on their own 34 yard line. This was the play of the game for the Giants as Manning would pass to Beckham Jr. and he would take it to the house after a 66 yard gain for the game winning touchdown.

This game came down to one play and Beckham Jr. showed up having a career day by having 8 receptions for 222 yards. The Giants needed this win to change the route of their season and they earned it.
