Atlanta Falcons Sign Robert Alford To 4-Year Extension

1 Min Read

The Atlanta Falcons made sure one of their top cornerbacks didn’t hit the open market by signing Robert Alford to a four-year contract extension.

Alford’s deal with Atlanta is reportedly for $38 million and includes $21 million guaranteed, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Alford, who has started all 12 games this season, was a second-round draft pick in 2013 out of Southwestern Louisiana and was in the last year of his deal.

This extension ensures that Alford stays in Atlanta for the next few years.

Alford leads the Falcons with 2 passes defensed and two interceptions while his 47 combined tackles ranks 5th on the team.
