Dolphins’ Ryan Tannehill Reportedly Now Day-To-Day, Poised For Return In Playoffs

2 Min Read

Last night, thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Miami Dolphins punched their ticket to the NFL Playoffs for the 1st times since 2008. That was a long time ago which makes Miami’s playoff berth that much more special to fans who have endured misery since then.

As if the good news surrounding the Dolphins’ improbable playoff push wasn’t enough for fans to sink their teeth into, there is a bit more positive news coming out of South Florida, and it is regarding injured quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

According to a report from Pro Football talk, Tannehill, who suffered a Grade II MCL sprain and a slight tear of his ACL a few weeks ago against the Arizona Cardinals, is now considered “day-to-day “, a massive upgrade from “week-to-week”.

It’s not hard to tell why, at least at first glance. Tannehill, who was walking with the help of crutches and a cane not long ago, was seen walking on his own on the sidelines in Buffalo during Miami’s Christmas Eve victory over the Bills.

The Dolphins will be playing it safe with Tannehill, meaning he won’t be suiting up for their final game against the New England Patriots. Matt Moore, who has done a respectable job stepping up in Tannehill’s absence, will be lining up behind center for that game.

If Tannehill were to play, it would be for Miami’s AFC Wild Card Playoff game, which has yet to be determined.

Regardless, Tannehill’s recovery has been remarkable and just another chapter in the storybook season of the Miami Dolphins.
