New York Giants: After The Season

4 Min Read

The New York Giants football season has come to an end and now they have important decisions to make. The Giants had a great season, but in the NFL there is always room for improvement.

During this offseason the Giants need to strengthen certain areas of their team in order to win next season. The Giants are going to need playmakers on both sides of the ball and they will also need better protection for Eli Manning.

The offensive line is an important part to successful quarterbacks and running backs, and the Giants running game suffered last season. The Giants offense will see some changes during this offseason.

The Giants finished with a record of 11-5 under first year head coach Ben McAdoo. That is a huge accomplishment for a team that only had 6 wins the season before.

The Giants will need to have seasons like this in order to keep pace with the rest of the NFC East. Eli Manning will have the offense in his hands for a few more years and he will need all the help he can get especially from his receivers. This team was dangerous going into the playoffs, but were stopped short by a red hot Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

The Giants had two big players this season on both sides of the ball that were game changers and will be big factors if they want to make a deep run in the playoffs next year. The offensive player is Odell Beckham Jr., and the defensive player is Landon Collins.

Beckham had a great season this year although he had some issues with his temper he would do what is best for the team. He caught 10 touchdowns this season and also had a total of 1,367 yards. Those numbers are great for the young receiver and he will improve next season.

Collins had an unbelievable year on the defensive side of the ball. Every play he would be in route to the ball and try to make a play on the ball.

His numbers at the end of this season indicated what type for energy he was bringing to the Giants defense. He would finish the season with 100 solo tackles, 4 sacks, and 5 interceptions.

Collins was the driving force behind the Giants defense this season, and he will be a big reason that they win next season as well. He is a game changing player and the Giants need to keep him healthy and put more defensive talent around him.

In the 2017 NFL draft the Giants will have the 23th pick and they need a great player. The Giants need a good running back and they also need to fill some holes on the defensive side of the ball.

The Giants should look at this season as a good one because they made it to the playoffs. Winning the Super Bowl is the ultimate goal that they did not accomplish, but if they keep the consistency they had this season they will be able to be even better next season.
