Darren McFadden Believes Cowboys Want Him Back

2 Min Read

Cowboys running back Darren McFadden is set to hit free agency soon meaning his tenure in ‘Big D’ could be coming to an end. But McFadden believes that Dallas may be inclined to bring the veteran back in 2017.

“I kinda get the feel that they wouldn’t mind keeping me,” McFadden said to SiriusXM NFL Radio, via The Dallas Morning News. “I was raised in Arkansas. I live here now. Set up my home here in Texas. I’m a Cowboys fan regardless of whether they decide to bring me back or not.”

McFadden, who has had his fair share of injuries and was limited to just 3 regular season games in 2016, will be entering his 10th season.

“For me, I still feel fresh,” McFadden,29, said. “Like you said I didn’t get a lot of wear and tear on my body from the season. I only played in the last three regular season games and the playoff game. I feel like I have a lot that I can offer any team as far as being out there and a guy that can carry the load. I don’t feel like I’ve lost a step at all. I feel like that any team that wants to take a shot at me I don’t think it’d be a bad deal for ’em.”

It’s unlikely that the Cowboys will bring McFadden back especially due to his age and his injury history.

McFadden is more likely to catch on with a team in need of veteran depth at running back and his best shot may be in a backup role, and possibly a 3rd string running back.
