Myles Garrett Campaigns For Dallas Cowboys To Trade Up To Draft Him

2 Min Read

Well, Texas A&M’s star defensive end Myles Garrett isn’t shying away from letting the world, and one specific NFL organization, know who he wants to play for when he is drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft later this spring.

That team, is the Dallas Cowboys.

“I’m speaking to you, Jerry,” Garrett said in a video filmed at the College Football Awards back in December (h/t ESPN).

“Mr. (coach Jason) Garrett, make it happen. Dak Prescott leads our team right now. I need you to take Tony Romo, take a couple picks, and give them to Cleveland so you can pick me up. Please, I’d love to play in Dallas, just make it happen.”

ESPN’s social media producer clarified that Garrett’s video was “100 percent supposed to be fun,” taking the edge off the seriousness of Garrett’s pleas. But that hasn’t and won’t likely stop the media, myself included, from hammering this tidbit from now up until the NFL Draft.

The Cowboys would have to pony up a lot to get into position to draft Garrett, who is widely considered to be going #1 to the Cleveland Browns. Garrett was projected to go to Cleveland at #1 in NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft

Regardless of the “fun” and the mock drafts this sentiment can’t be giving Browns’ fans, nor the organization, the warm and fuzzies about Garrett’s feelings’ about playing for their team. The long suffering Browns can’t seem to catch a break.
