In a bit of a surprising move the Philadelphia 76ers have traded center and defensive stalwart Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks.
Noel’s name had been linked to trade rumors for the better part of the first half of the NBA season but those rumors died down when it was reported and assumed that the Sixers preferred to keep Noel and instead trade Jahlil Okafor.
It appears both Noel and Okafor could both be out of Philly at the end of the day.
According to The Vertical’s Adiran Wojnarowski the Sixers are sending Noel to the Mavericks for Justin Anderson and a first-round draft pick. ESPN reports the trade also includes Andrew Bogut.
