Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jameis Winston ‘would love to have’ DeSean Jackson On Team

2 Min Read

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely to be in the market for a wider receiver as we approach free agency. With the contract of 34-year-old receiver Vincent Jackson expiring and the team highly unlikely to bring back he aging and oft-injured wideout, the Bucs need a new target to compliment wideout Mike Evans.

If you ask quarterback Jameis Winston, that reciever should be Washington Redskins receiver and soon-to-be-free-agent DeSean Jackson.

In fact, Winston is starting his recruitment.

“I’ve met him before, and we want DeSean. You better believe we want DeSean here,” Winston said Wednesday, via Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. “I think he would be a great asset to our team. Me growing up an Eagles fan, seeing what he did for the Eagles and back in his Cal days and even with the Redskins, I would love to have DeSean.”

Jackson has stated that he would prefer to stay in Washington but the feeling may not be mutual. The Washington Post recently reported that Jackson’s play has been “too inconsistent for management’s taste” clouding the possibility of a Jackson return to the Redskins.

Tampa Bay will have some competition for Jackson’s services which will likely include the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams.
