All hope is not lost as Dameon Moser is without a scholarship offer as a 2018 running back playing for the Sanger High School Indians in Sanger, Texas.
His goal, of course, is to get that scholarship offer that has eluded him up to this point in his recruiting process. Despite that, he is grateful to the Sanger Indian fans and coaching staff for helping him get to where he is.
“I will miss all the love and support whether we won or lost a game. No matter what Sanger fans were loyal people and supported us no matter what happened,” Moser said. “The coaching staff is hands down the best coaching staff I’ve ever played for and I appreciate everything they’ve done for our team and even for myself.”
He didn’t leave his teammates out as he also said they were the main reason for his success and he’s blessed to play with a group of guys that support him and push him to be the best.
The 5’11. 170 pound, running back from Sioux Falls, South Dakota started playing football in the seventh grade. He didn’t think much of his talent and planned to tell his family that he was going to quit.
“After I scored my first touchdown, I [saw] the rush and excitement of it and since then football has always been there for me.”
His dad was responsible for putting football in his life but Dameon Moser said that his mother is his hero. He always looked up to her because she did her best as a single mother to give Dameon and his sister what they wanted and needed. She did all of this 1,000 miles away.
“She would always come visit whenever she could and I could always call and she always answered. We could talk about anything that was bothering me, anything at all.”
Dameon Moser finished the 2016-17 season with 998 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns and 472 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. The Sanger Indians finished that season 6-5 overall and 3-2 in 4A-1 Region I District Four play.
As far as schools he is looking at, he really likes the University of Tulsa. They were the first school to show him interest and they have continued to do so throughout his process. He said that Tulsa would be a good fit for him because his parents could come to games and see him play.
He’s not tied down to Texas or anywhere close for college he said.
“Where ever a scholarship is, if I have my name on it, I’m down to go where ever.”

Dameon Moser on film has speed to go along with his ability to catch the football out of the backfield. He would need to get bigger and stronger to have the kind of frame that colleges are looking for at that position. He said that he wants to prove he can play well as a defensive back in his last season. Look for him to work as hard if not harder on the defensive end.
“To me, I have to work on my speed because the positions I’m trying to play next year, speed is the key. A great example of this is Manti Teo. He was a great college football player but because of his 40-yard dash his stock dropped and he wasn’t drafted as high as he was predicted to be. I’m not trying to have the same outcome as him.”
Lining up and playing anywhere he’s asked on the field and his determination to overcome obstacles are his best qualities and something he prides himself on.
“I’m coachable, I’m a hard worker on the field and in the class room. I take school seriously, I take sports seriously. That’s pretty much it.”
