‘No Timetable’ For Return Of Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck

Patience is a virtue, as the old saying goes. The Indianapolis Colts are certainly taking that approach when it comes to to recovery and eventual return of franchise quarterback Andrew Luck, who had surgery on his throwing shoulder at the end of January.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard, who is in his 1st year at the helm, said that he spoke with Luck but did not disclose details of the conversation. Ballard did speak about the Colts cautious approach.

“We’re going to follow — we all know how important Andrew is to this organization,” Ballard said. “We’re going to do the best thing for Andrew Luck. We’re going to follow doctor’s orders and when he’s ready he’s ready.”

“I’ll keep that conversation between me and Andrew. He’s a great human being as you all know. The Indianapolis Colts are fortunate to have him. He’s rehabbing, he’s doing everything the doctors are telling him. We’ll go strictly on the doctor’s orders. He’s been there every day I’ve been in the building. Andrew has been sitting there working, rehabbing, doing everything that needs to be done.”

Ballard also wouldn’t label the Colts direction as a rebuild and seems to be taking a patient approach with both the team and their quarterback.
