Cotto/Kamegai Fight Preview And Prediction

2 Min Read

Future Hall of Famer Miguel Cotto(40-5) will go toe to toe this Saturday night August 26 against the extremely dangerous Yoshihiro Kamegai(27-3-2).

This shootout clash fittingly will take place at the war grounds at the Stub hub Center Live on HBO.

Cotto currently finds himself at the tail end of his legendary career, so the 36 year old Boriqua Bomber is looking to close out this last leg of the run in a very strong way.

Unfortunately for Cotto, in his path to derail his story book ending on a high note is a very tough foe that doesn’t take a backward step in Kamegai.

Cotto will need to employ his very underrated hard dagger of a jab to be most effective in helping set up a vicious right hook to the body or a fight ending left hook upstairs.

Yoshihiro Kamegai has got to know that he must fight the fight of his life in order to secure the win in what would be the biggest win of his career.

Kamegai the Japanese warrior is not only a powerful puncher but he also has a granite chin, as he’s never been knocked out or dropped in any of his bouts throughout his career.

If Kamegai uses his longer reach and imposes his will, Cotto will find himself in a torturous war now that he is longer in the tooth. So if I am Kamegai I would jump right on Cotto and attempt to overwhelm him with busy activity.

I see Cotto’s jab and body punching as the deciding factors in this battle against Kamegai. I also feel that Cotto has just enough gas left in the tank and brain power to outwit his younger foe.

Give me Miguel Cotto to take a unanimous decision over Yoshihiro Kamegai in a tough fight with some hard to score rounds.
