Crawford/Indongo Fight Preview And Prediction

2 Min Read

This weekend on Saturday August 19 on ESPN Live from Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, Top 3 pound for pound fighter in the sport in Terence Crawford will lock horns with the very dangerous Julius Indongo.

The winner of this clash will be the unified champion of the 140 pound weight class and the first fighter to hold the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF straps in any division in 12 years.

Crawford’s last fight was on May 20th when he toyed and destroyed Felix Diaz to stop Diaz in the 10th round.

Indongo last fought in April when he captured his WBA belt by beating Ricky Burns by unanimous decision.

As I watch tape on both fighters, I came away feeling that there is no way that Indongo(22-0) can beat Bud Crawford(31-0). I just feel that Crawford is too quick physically and mentally and along with his excellent foot speed it will be far too much for Indongo to overcome.

What Indongo does have going good for him is his length and he is also a very awkward fighter with a sneaky left hand.

Crawford’s accuracy and ability to switch boxing stances from unorthodox to southpaw with ease will give Indongo a world of trouble.

Indongo has descent power that keeps opponents honest, but his power is not hard enough to keep Crawford away for long. And the scary thing about Crawford is that he seems to improve round after round and the second that he spots any kind of weakness he rapidly then goes in for the kill.

Entering the second half of the fight, Indongo will begin to feel the stinging shots to his midsection and by round 8 Indongo will find himself overwhelmed and in survival mode.

I am taking Bud Crawford to stop Indongo inside of 10 rounds to become the unified undisputed 140 pound champion of the world.
