On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins have signed retired quarterback Jay Cutler to a one year deal. This according to Ian Rapaport
Jay Cutler’s Career
In the 2006 NFL Draft, with the 11th overall pick in the first round, the Denver Broncos of the AFC West selected Jay Cutler, quarterback out of Vanderbilt University. With the Broncos, he started 37 games, Cutler had a 17-20 record and did not make the playoffs. He also was an ongoing quarterback battle with Jake Plummer during the 2006 season.
After the 2006 season, the Broncos dealt the struggling QB to the Chicago Bears. With his arrival in the windy city, he showed improvement in his play even though the team around him was struggling. In 2009, Jay Cutler and the Bears made the playoffs. However, they lost in the NFC Championship game.
For the next seven years in Chicago, Cutler had some ups and downs. In his 10 seasons in the league, he has had six injuries that only made him miss a total of three games.
Retiring From The NFL
At the conclusion of the 2016 regular season, Jay Cutler announced his retirement from the league and begin his new journey in sports broadcasting with the crew at Fox Sports.

Not including this season, Jay Cutler started 102 games with a record of 51-51. In the playoffs, he went 1-1 and almost had a shot at the Super Bowl in 2009.
Also in 2009, Cutler participated in the Pro Bowl. As a member of the Chicago Bears, Cutler set several franchise records. Here are some of them.
In 2014, with 2,020, he set a record for completions. During the season, he completed 370 passes. Also in 2014, he set a Bears record for pass attempts with 23, 443 pass attempts. that same season, he attempted 3,771 passes.
On January 16, 2011, he had two passing touchdowns. In his overall career, he had a total of 154 touchdowns. He shared that honor with three others. Cutler set the bar for other Bears quarterbacks with a passer rating of 85.2.
A record he might not want to be a part of was how many times he got sacked. In his career, he was sacked 251 times. In the 2010 season, he was sacked 52 times. On 10-3-2010 on the road against the Giants, he was on the ground 9 times. Cutler also averaged 229.8 passing yards per game in his career. In 2014 he had 4 300+ yard games.
