Week 2 is among us and it is time to take our stab at this weeks games. Again this is for entertainment purposes and very little research goes into our picks. We tend to rely on our gut for our picks so without any further ado let’s take a look at how we did in week 1.
Hits: Bills over the Jets, Giants over Cowboys.
Misses: Chiefs over Pats, Falcons over Chicago (Falcons didn’t cover).
The Bucs and Dolphins game wasn’t played so we’ll revisit that game in week 11. So for those keeping track at home we went 2-2 in week 1. We broke even so lets take a stab at 5 games for week 2.
Week 2
Eagles @ Chiefs (spread: Chiefs -4.5)
Carson Wentz and the Eagles looked like gang beaters against the Washington football team last week. We still don’t know if that is a reflection of the Eagles being really good or the other team being really bad. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. I went against the Chiefs last week on the road so I’m gonna roll with them this week as they return home. Hopefully Hunt goes off again and they handle business. Our pick: Chiefs win and cover
Bears @ Buccaneers (spread: Bucs -7)
This is the first game for the Buccaneers and they will be chopping at the bit after sitting out week 1. The Bears had a less than stellar showing in week 1 and still had a chance to win the game but came up short. All things equal I’ll give the advantage to the home team. It’s time for Winston to step and move to that next level, he will have his change in his home debut this weekend. Our pick: Bucs win
Bills @ Panthers (spread: Panthers -7)
The Panthers had a solid win last week as the Bills come to town. We love Tyrod Taylor and Shady McCoy but that Bills team lacks enough playmakers. The Bills beat the Jets last week but the Jets might be the worst team in the NFL. We’ll ride with Cam as the Panthers return to their home field this week. Our pick: Panthers win and cover.
Jets @ Raiders (spread: Raiders -14)
For those who know me, you understand that I am a big sucker for big numbers against the spread. This weeks upset special I am rolling with the Jets to keep it under 14 points. The Jets are a terrible terrible football team. I hate going against Vegas but I’m rolling the dice on the J-e-t-s. They won’t win but I just need them to not get blown out. Our pick: Jets lose but keep it within 14.
Packers @ Falcons (spread: Falcons -2.5)
The Falcons are a really good football team who is tough to beat at home. That is the basis for me picking the Falcons. I think these teams are really close in talent but the Falcons will be hype for opening their new stadium. Aaron Rodgers is a wildcard that you can never count out. We’ll play it safe and stick with the home team on this one. Our pick: Falcons win by 3
