SUNS’ ALEX LEN TO SIGN $4.2 MILLION QUALIFYING OFFER

1 Min Read

Phoenix Suns big man and restricted free agent Alex Len received very little interest on the free agent market and now he eyes a return to the Valley of the Sun.

Len intends to sign his $4.2 million qualifying offer before the start of training camp, which would make him an unrestricted free agent next offseason, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Len was the fifth overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft and hasn’t been able to showcase the potential that the Suns believed he had when they drafted him.

However, Len is back in Phoenix hoping to turn around a career that hasn’t guaranteed him a bright future as of yet.

Len has showed promise in stretches and has shown a slow development, so a long-term deal to remain in Phoenix is still possible, but he has to show more in the upcoming season.

Len registered 8.0 points, shot 50 percent from the field, grabbed 6.6 rebounds and swatted 1.3 blocks per game last season.
