Browns’ DeShone Kizer Apologizes For Distraction

2 Min Read

The Cleveland Browns are engaged in, what seems to be, an ongoing quarterback carousel and one of the interchangeable pieces is rookie DeShone Kizer.

Kizer made headlines over the weekend when a video surfaced showing Kizer, baseball cap on backward, talking while standing at a Cleveland bar, early Saturday morning.

Kizer has not conceded that the video is indeed of him and has apologized.

“When you become the centerpiece of a distraction for a week, it definitely is very frustrating on my part,” Kizer said.

. “That is not who I am. My mother wouldn’t be proud of this. That is pretty much the biggest takeaway is do whatever you can to make sure that you are not a distraction.”

“I think everybody has to be careful, not just DeShone, not just the quarterback. I think all of our players do,” Browns head coach Hue Jackson said. “Just because I think those are the things that become headlines more so than what is really the issue [that] we have to play football better.”

Kizer was seen out with fellow Browns teammates as well as Kansas City Chiefs players, some of whom are Cleveland natives.

“A couple of guys stuck around and have some conversations and now it turns into all of this,” Jackson said. “I don’t see any harm in that because guys are out and talking and having a little fun. I don’t see anything wrong with that.”

Will this be the only distraction that Kizer causes this season? I am sure that there are some sportsbook odds somewhere on the internet that break down the chances of it happening again.
