Alex Smith’s NFL career started in 2005 when he was drafted by the San Francisco  49ers. In his eight years in San Francisco, his record as the starting quarterback was 38-36-1, threw 67 percent of his passes, but couldn’t get the 49ers to the playoffs. In 2013, he was then traded to the Kansas City Chiefs wherein the five seasons he was there he led the Chiefs to the playoffs but not the Super Bowl.

Now in the upcoming 2018 season, Smith will be playing for a new team and a new conference and division.
