Ex-Dolphins Jonathan Martin Detained By Police For Social Media Post

Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin, who was the victim in the ‘Bullygate’ scandal a few years ago, has been detained for questioning in Los Angeles as a result of a threatening image posted on social media, according to a report from ESPN.

“The individual we believe responsible for the social media post in question has been detained and our investigation is ongoing,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement, while ABC News confirmed that the man is indeed Martin.

“When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge” Martin said  in an image of a shotgun and ammunition posted on Instagram.

Martin tagged former Dolphins’ teammates Richie Incognito, who received the harshest penalty for his involvement in bullying, and Mike Pouncey.

Martin accused Incognito and Pouncey of bullying him in 2013 when they were teammates in Miami.

Martin also made reference to the Miami Dolphins and his high school, Harvard-Westlake, in hashtags made in the post.

Harvard-Westlake, a private school in Los Angeles, closed Friday morning in response to the post from Martin.
