NBPA Announces Mental Health and Wellness Program for Players

The National Basketball Players Association announced the launch of a mental health and wellness program for players on Friday, according to USA Today’s Hejj Zillgit.

NBPA Player Wellness Counselor , and former NBA player, Keyon Dooling will be joined by a Director of Mental Health and Wellness, according to the official announcement.

Mental health has been a topic of conversation this season as prominent players such as the Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan and Cleveland Cavaliers’ forward Kevin Love discussed their experiences in a public service announcement released by the NBA for Mental Health Awareness Month in May:
