Supreme Court Sets Stage To Allow Sports Gambling

The United States Supreme Court has ruled in favor of New Jersey in the state’s challenge to the federal law known as The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, a major step in favor of sports betting.

The court ruled that the law is unconstitutional and has officially kicked off what should be a myriad of stats looking to start allowing sports gambling as far too much money is on the table to simply ignore.

The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act barred states from legalizing gambling on sporting events with the exception of Nevada as well as less notable exceptions for sports lotteries in three other states.

While some major sports leagues have expressed interest in getting a cut of the action, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been rather quiet about the NFL’s plans for expanded sports betting in the country.
