Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius underwent a scan due to fears that he suffered head trauma during Liverpool’s defeat at the hands of Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League final.
Karius made two errors following a collision with Los Blancos defender Sergio Ramos and Reds’ medical staff feared that he may have suffered damage in the process, according to ESPN FC’s Mark Ogden.
Karius had a scan in Boston at the end of May.

Karius was widely blamed for Liverpool’s defeat following the two errors he committed. Furthermore, Merseyside Police released a statement saying that it’s officers were aware of ‘threats’ made against Karius on social media.

Karius was visibly distraught after the match, and very emotional.
Karius visited the specialist Dr Ross Zafonte at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to The Daily Mail.
Karius will return to Liverpool for pre-season training on July 2 but it is strongly believed that Jurgen Klopp will explore signing a new goalkeeper to replace Karius.
Despite all of the drama,former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar, who helped the Reds win the European Cup in 1984, believes that Karius deserves a 2nd chance.
“They gave me two years of second chances, so why can’t they give him a second chance after one game?” Grobbelaar said.
“They should keep him in the spotlight from next season. First game back, get him back as soon as possible.”
“I know that I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down,” Karius said following his errors in the match. “As I said I’d just like to turn back the time but that’s not possible. It’s even worse as we all felt that we could have beaten Real Madrid and we were in the game for a long time.”
“I don’t feel anything right now” Karius said back in May, according to Sky Sports.
“Today I lost my team the game and I feel sorry for everyone – from the team, from the whole club – that the mistakes cost dearly.
“If I could go back in time I would. I feel sorry for my team. I know I let them down today. These goals cost us the title basically.
“It’s very hard right now but that’s the life of a goalkeeper. You have to get your head up again.”
