New Los Angeles Laker LeBron James has just completed a milestone. No, it isn’t his move out West to the legendary franchise, but his career earnings have gone past a certain major milestone.
Thanks to his new four-year, $154 million deal to join the Lakers, James’s career earnings have now passed the $1 billion mark, according to to ESPN’s Darren Rovell (via George Mills of Express.com).
Per Rovell, “will hit $1 [billion] in career earnings in his next deal, about 65 per cent of which will come from endorsements.”
With the achievement James became the first NBA player to earn over $1 billion while still playing the game.
This doesn’t come as a surprise, as Forbes’ Kurt Badenhausen stated that James had a net worth of $275M back in December 2016, some serious Forbes Sports Money, even at that time.
