Jaime Munguia(29-0) vs. Liam Smith(26-1-1)- I feel that Smith is the slightly better polished fighter and he places his punches together better than Munguia.
Munguia on the other hand is the younger harder hitting lion that is going to be right there to batter Smith from post to post.
Smith’s best shot is to box smart and work behind his jab and must look to box the longer Munguia instead of slugging it out.
My belief is that the bigger natural seek and destroy fighter is going to catch Smith with a nasty right cross, and will then press and stop Smith inside of 9 rounds to keep his WBO strap.
Munguia by 8th round stoppage.
July 21st At Moscow
Oleksandr Usyk(14-0) vs. Murat Gassiev(26-0)- Tough tough tough fight to call between these two heavy handed killers.
The southpaw Usyk’s faster hands and quick feet separates him from the rest of the current cruiserweights. And for this big fight, Usyk will need to jab and double jab and use angles to keep Gassiev off balance.
Gassiev is a stalker that throws a murderous right hand that is a fight ending compact shot. Gassiev must press and stay right on top of Usyk to not allow his foe to get into a comfortable rhythm.
I’m picking the smarter Usyk to control the pace of the fight and will pick his spots better to escape with a split decision.
