Veteran free agent defensive lineman Roy Miller, who was cut from the Kansas City Chiefs back in November following his arrest for domestic battery, has announced that he will retire from the NFL instead of serving a six-game suspension for the domestic violence allegation.
Miller released the following statement on his Instagram page:
“I am officially retiring from the NFL,” Miller wrote. “Unfortunately my ex is trying everything she can to ruin any opportunity for me to work for my kids. This has caused me much pain. had some interest [from] teams but until the divorce goes through I can’t even contemplate putting a team through the drama.”
Miller has played for the Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars throughout his career.
