NFL Week 5 Preview & Game Picks

NFL on CBS Early Window

Tennessee Titans (3-1) at (1-3) Buffalo Bills
Sunday 1:00 PM ET CBS

In Tennessee, it doesn’t matter who is at quarterback. The Titans have won three games out of four. Not bad in the AFC South. As for the Buffalo Bills, the Bills had that impressive win against the Vikings in Week 3. However, struggled in the other three games they lost. Even though for Tennessee it’s a road game, I pick the Titans to beat the Bills.

Baltimore Ravens (3-1) at (1-2-1) Cleveland Browns
Sunday 1:00 PM ET CBS

Nothing has changed in Baltimore. The Ravens are continuing to win games. In their first four games, they are 3-1. Now they are looking to continue their winning ways. Down in Cleveland, the Browns are 1-2-1. Which for Browns fans, is not a bad year so far. But, if they want to be the top Dawgz in the AFC North, they have to win against some tough opponents. I gave the Browns their only win of the season on Sept. 20. So, with that, I am picking the Baltimore Ravens to defeat the Cleveland Browns.

Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) at (4-0) Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday 1:00 PM CBS

Jacksonville is becoming a dominant team in the AFC South and the NFL. But this season, they must take on the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs. Will Jacksonville spoil the party in Kansas City by upsetting the Chiefs? The answer will be revealed after the game but in my opinion, the answer to that question is…No! That’s why I pick the Chiefs to win.

Denver Broncos (2-2) at (1-3) New York Jets
Sunday 1:00 PM CBS

Down in the Big Apple, the New York Jets have crashlanded in the AFC East and it’s not the quarterbacks’ fault. At 1-3, the Offensive line is the one to blame. Jet fans have been bracing for impact and putting their trays in the upright position for three weeks. As for Denver, the Broncos are sitting at 2-2. Not bad for a team that’s finding their next quarterback. I see the Broncos winning and the Jets going up in flames.

NFL on CBS Late Window

Oakland Raiders (1-3) at (2-2) Los Angeles Chargers
Sunday 4:05 PM CBS

Ever since John Gruden returned to Oakland, the Raiders have struggled. In their first three games, the Raiders went 0-3. Last week, the Oakland Raiders got their first win. Many fans in Chargers country are upset that the Chargers moved from San Diego to Los Angeles. Since making the move, the LA Chargers have been struggling with not finding the success the LA Rams have had. Plus, the LA Chargers play in a small soccer stadium so not a lot of fans are attending. With that said, I pick the Oakland Raiders to win this game.

NFL on FOX Early Window

New York Giants (1-3) at (2-1) Carolina Panthers
Sunday 1:00 PM ET FOX

It’s an “old school” vs. “New School showdown in North Carolina. Eli Manning has been in the NFL since ’04 while Newton since 2011. Manning relies on his arm while Cam uses his legs as well as his arm. However, I am going with experience over youth. I am Picking the New York Giants to win the game.

Green Bay Packers (2-1-1) at (1-3) Detroit Lions
Sunday 1:00 PM FOX

Both Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford are two of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and the NFC North. But, when you are going up against a Super Bowl quarterback like Rodgers, you kind of have to go with Green Bay. So, my Pick is the Green Bay Packers.

Atlanta Falcons (1-3) at (1-2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday 1:00 PM FOX

Poised to be the top team in the NFC, the 1-3 Atlanta Falcons are struggling to get points on the board and to keep a lead late in the game. That’s easier said than done when your going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Don’t let the 1-2-1 record fool you. With Big Ben slinging the rock, his receivers can catch it in any situation and score the touchdown or give the Steelers the first down. That’s why I have Pittsburgh winning this game.

NFL on FOX Late Window

Minnesota Vikings (1-2-1) at (2-2) Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday 4:25 PM FOX

It’s been a struggle since Cousins has moved to Minnesota Vikings. He only has one win under his belt. As for Wintz, he and Foles are 1-1 going into the second quarter of the regular season. I so want to pick the Minnesota Vikings to win the game, but I have this funny feeling that the Eagles are going to win being that it’s in Philadelphia, PA.

Arizona Cardinals (0-4) at (1-3) San Francisco 49ers
Sunday 4:25 PM FOX

Poor Cardinals fans. Ever since Carson Palmer left for Retirement, you have had bad luck with your quarterbacks. No wonder your 0-4. Speaking of bad quarterback luck, down in San Francisco, California Jimmy Goropolo tore his ACL and is out for the remainder of the season. Now, the 49ers must rely on their backup for wins. Even though the Cardinals are on the road, I see them taking home a win in San Francisco.

Los Angeles Rams (4-0) at (2-2) Seattle Seahawks
4:25 PM FOX

Nothing like an NFC West fight to End the day. Seattle is home to one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL (Next to Kansas City). Trust me, I know. The crowd is what made the Cowboys lose in week three. Anyways, well now they Seahawks must contend with a team that is 4-0 and they are called the LA Rams. With Jared Goff at quarterback and Russell Willson quarterbacking the Seahawks, should be an interesting game. Even though it will be a close game, I see the Seattle Seahawks defeating the Los Angeles Rams.

NBC Sunday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys (2-2) at (1-3) Houston Texans
Sunday 7:20 PM NBC

It’s a battle of Texas pride. Dallas and Houston. Ever since the Texans were established in 2002, the Dallas Cowboys are 3-1 in the regular season. Now, in their fifth meeting all-time, the Houston Texans have a decent quarterback in Deshaun Watson. He runs and act like the Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. However, even though it’s in Houston, I believe that Dallas will win.

ESPN Monday Night Football

Washington Redskins (2-1) at (3-1) New Orleans Saints
Monday 8:15 PM ESPN

As the Washington Redskins quarterback, Alex is finding his footing here in the Nations Capitol sitting at 2-2 in the NFC East in third place. But, to move up to the at least second place, they have to beat the highly skilled Drew Breese and the New Orleans Saints. Being that it’s in the Louisiana Superdome, I have a feeling that the New Orleans Saints will take home a victory Monday Night.
