Bernie Sanders Launches Twitch Channel

2 Min Read

Among all of the millions of twitch channels that you can currently peruse on Twitch, you can now find Senator Bernie Sanders’ channel, which he just launched.

Sanders’ launch of a Twitch channel this past Tuesday makes him the first presidential candidates to have a presence on the popular video game streaming service.

While the channel does not have any videos like other Twitch streamers as of yet, the Sanders’ campaign team is planning to launch a series of Bernie Live videos across Twitch, Facebook and YouTube.

The Bernie Live videos provides viewers an outlet in which Sanders and his staff will discuss news of the day and provide campaign updates.

“We’re moving toward doing a lot more live content on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, tapping into an audience where there’s not a lot of political content already,” Josh Miller-Lewis, who runs the digital communications arm of Sanders’ campaign said, according to Recode.

Fellow Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang launched a Twitch channel back in July of 2018.

It remains to be seen if Sanders will actually play any games, but it’s big win for Twitch, who continues to build on it’s incredible momentum and success in 2019.
