ESPN Halting LaVar Ball Appearances

ESPN has finally given us some good news when it comes to the Ball family, in that they are not planning on having the outspoken LaVar Ball on any of their platforms in the future, according to The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch.

It’s about time.

Ball’s latest appearance on ESPN’s First Take drew a lot of criticism as Ball appeared to make an inappropriate and suggestive comment to First Take host Molly Qerim when they were discussing LaMelo being a potential top overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The senior Ball has made a lot of news for the dumb things that come out of his mouth than anything of actual relevance, and ESPN has been a leader in giving LaVar a platform to spew nonsense.

Thankfully, that appears to be over.

LaVar is losing his grip on the spotlight as his son Lonzo Ball is having a hard time reaching the potential that Ball trumpeted prior to being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers.

LiAngelo has failed to draw the interest of NBA teams, and it is unclear what LiMelo, who is ranked 33rd on ESPN’s current 2020 NBA Mock Draft, will ever see the court in the NBA.

For now, let’s at least take comfort in knowing that the cringe-worthy appearances, and coverage, of LaVar Ball is at least, for the time being, coming to an end on ESPN.
