UFC’s Desmond Green Arrested for DUI Manslaughter

2 Min Read

UFC fighter Desmond Green was arrested on Tuesday for DUI manslaughter after allegedly causing a five-car crash that killed two women back in August of last year, with officials claiming that Green had alcohol and drugs in his system, along with cocaine in his vehicle, according to TMZ Sports.

Green, 29, faces multiple felony manslaughter counts after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle, a 2011 Dodge Durango, while driving on I-75, swerving into a semi truck back on August 18th, 2018, and now faces serious jail time.

Green’s car struck other vehicles, killing a 67-year old woman and a 76-year old woman in the process, while seriously injuring two others.

Green suffered minor injuries during the crash.

According to police, they witnessed Green throw a metal container over a highway barrier following the crash, which they say was a metal grinder that contained marijuana.

Green reportedly wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and had a bag of cocaine in the front seat of his vehicle.

Additionally, cops say that Green demonstrated signs that he was drunk, with slurred speech and the smell of booze. Toxicology texts showed that he had both alcohol and drugs in his system.

Officials say that the arrest process took a long time due to an investigation that took months to conduct, and they now feel that they have enough information to prosecute the UFC fighter successfully.

Green last fought in the UFC back in May, defeating Charles Jourdain at UFC Fight Night.
