Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton was hospitalized following a car accident in the Miami area on Thursday morning, according to ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe.

Norton, 22, was transported to Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital’s trauma center and is currently in critical condition, which is considered to put an end to his NFL career although he is expected to survive the crash, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinal’s Omar Kelly.

Per the report, Norton’s left arm had to be amputated by paramedics at the scene for him to exit the vehicle.

Norton, who was drated out of the University of Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft, was involved in a multiple-car accident that featured a vehicle rolling over.

Norton, who was claimed off of the Carolina Panthers practice squad last year, was expected to compete for a spot on the Dolphins 53-man roster in training camp and the preseason.
