Saints’ Michael Thomas Seeking $20 Million Annually

1 Min Read

New Orleans Saints’ wide receiver Michael Thomas is looking to cash in big in a potential contract extension with the Saints.

The Saints have offered Thomas a new contract that will pay him between $18 million and $19 million annually, but Thomas is hoping to earn $20 per year in a new deal, according to Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson.

Thomas is currently slated to hit free agency following the conclusion of the 2019 season, and if he gets what he wants in a new deal, it will top Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.’s contract that pays him an annual average of $18 million, according to Spotrac, which is the highest among wideouts.

Thomas isn’t the only big name wide receiver that is looking for a new deal, as Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is seeking a contract extension as well, and when it is all said and done he may end up with the top paying deal.

The Saints and Thomas will be working to get a deal done before the official start of training camp later this week.
