Golden State Warriors point guard D’Angelo Russell, who inked a four-year, $117.3 million contract with the Warriors during free agency, is discussing his new team, and working with his new teammates such as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Russell is rumored to be a trade candidate later this season, more likely whenever Thompson is able to return to the court from the torn ACL he suffered during the NBA Finals, if he is at all during the 2019-2020 season.
Russell understands that despite the contract, he may not be staying in the Bay area for very long.
“You put yourself in a position to go somewhere a long time and it might not be what it is a year later” Russell said, according to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
