Harley Races Dies at 76

Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race has passed away at the age of 76.

Race had been dealing with a number of health issues this year. He was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and as hospitalized back in July due to health issues.

Race won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship an impressive 8 times during his career, and was one of NWA’s most dominant champions, taking part in legendary feuds with the likes of Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, and Dory Funk Jr.

Race was also considered one of the toughest wrestlers of his time, as well as one of the most respected in history.

Race joined WWE back in 1986, winning the King of the Ring tournament, and performing at the record-setting WrestleMania III, which housed around 93,000 fans.

Race managed and trained some of the All-time greats in the industry, opening his own wrestling academy following his in-ring career, which is based in Troy, Missouri.
