Redskins Not Trading Trent Williams

1 Min Read

Despite a rift with Pro Bowl tackle Trent Williams that currently has Williams engaging in a holdout, the Washington Redskins aren’t looking to turn the page on the franchise tackle.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Redskins have been receiving calls regarding the availability of Williams in trade, but they have been telling teams that they are not willing to deal Williams.

Williams, who has been holding out throughout training camp and also stayed away from mandatory minicamp back in June, is upset with how a growth on his head was treated over the years, according to ESPN’s John Keim.

Williams had the growth surgically removed this offseason and the Redskins say that several appointments that they made for Williams over the years were not kept.

Williams is due to make $10.5 million in base salary this year, and if this holdout trickles into the regular season, he could be risking significant money each game.
