Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney Fires Agent, Wants Trade

2 Min Read

Houston Texans edge rusher is pushing for a trade out of Houston, and will get new representation to help him do just that.

According to NFL Network insiders Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo, Clowney has fired his longtime agent, Bus Cook as he was unhappy with how talks were going with the Texans.

Clowney is now eligible to seek new representation. Clowney is also looking for a way out of Houston, via a trade.

According to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, Clowney prefers to be traded to either the Seattle Seahawks or the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Clowney met in person with Miami Dolphins’ head coach Brian Flores along with other members of the Dolphins’ brass, however the rebuilding Dolphins’ aren’t his first choice.

Furthermore, the Dolphins would be open to working out a lucrative extension with Clowney, should he end up in Miami, when he becomes eligible. Their current cap space, and projected cap space next offseason will allow them to do just that, and much more.

Clowney wants a long-term deal, but the Texans and his reps have been able to make any headway towards a new deal.

According to MMQB’s Albert Breer, back in the spring it was believed that Clowney could be traded at the cost of a second round draft pick.
