Los Angeles Chargers’ running back Melvin Gordon may be ending his holdout and moving up his reporting date, although no final decision have yet to be made, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Gordon had originally planned to return to the team sometime during October, but now Gordon feels the best way to demonstrate his value is by playing on the field, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Gordon must report by November 29th to be able to play in 2019 and accrue credit for this season toward becoming a free agent during the offseason.
Gordon, 26, has held out as contract negotiations with the team have been at an impasse, and the Chargers granted Gordon’s reps permission to pursue a trade, however no deals have surfaced.
Gordon is scheduled to make $5.605 million this season, the final season of his rookie deal.
