The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott are not close to agreeing on a new contract, and no extension is expected in the near future, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Despite the gloomy news, there is no doubt that a new deal will be worked out eventually as the Cowboys want to keep Prescott and Prescott wants to stay with the Cowboys for the long-term.
Prescott is not moving down from his price, and with a quarterback market that will continue to inflate once the Kansas City Chiefs address a new contract with superstar Patrick Mahomes, the Cowboys will likely have to get closer to, or exactly meet Prescott’s demands.
Prescott, 26, is having another fine season, and is a big reason why the Cowboys are off to the impressive start that they are.
