Adidas In Talks to Buyout Contract of Wizards’ John Wall

3 Min Read

Apparel brand Adidas is reportedly in talks with Washington Wizards’ All-Star point guard John Wall regarding a buyout of his five-year footwear and apparel endorsement deal less than two years into the agreement, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula.

Wall, who initially inked the deal with Adidas in January 2018, has been limited by a rash of injuries since signing the deal, which has limited his on-court visibility while wearing Adidas products, and thus his ROI in marketing their products.

Wall missed 27 games with a left-knee injury only three weeks after signing with Adidas, and cost him an appearance in that year’s All-Star game, when Wall was expected to help headline the Crazy BYW X sneaker in Los Angeles, California.

Then, a left Achilles tendon injury sidelined Wall in late December of the 2018-2019 season which was expected to keep him out the rest of that season, and then suffered a full Achilles tear a few months later, which put his 2019-2020 season in jeopardy as well.

The Wizards came to grips with that reality over the summer, when general manager Ted Leonis stated that Wall “probably won’t play next season”, and Wall’s expected return date pushed to the 2020-2021 season.

Wall’s deal with Adidas was expected to pay him close to $25 million, but that deal is looking to be coming to an abrupt end.

Some deals just simply don’t deliver, as Adidas is learning with John Wall. But some deals need to produce results, such as Miami SEO that is expected to help drive more Miami based traffic. Simply put, not all Florida SEO is the same, despite promises otherwise. Truth be told, not all flashy talk from Fort Lauderdale SEO firms trying to land your business, actually follow through.

It’s hard to deliver in a specific market. It takes a strong, and diverse Brickell SEO firm to master the Brickell market. It takes an understanding of the Wynwood market to execute a solid Wynwood SEO plan. It takes a competitive fire and creativity in any Boca Raton SEO approach to find success in Boca Raton. Stop paying for promises, and start getting results.
