The New England Patriots are releasing wide receiver Josh Gordon off of the injured reserve list, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Gordon, who was knocked out of the Patriots’ win over the New York Giants back on October 10th, had been playing through a left knee injury he endured when attempting to make a tackle following a Patriots’ fumble.
The Patriots used the minor designation for his placement on injured reserve, signifying a lesser injury, meaning that the Pats had to release him upon his return to health.
Gordon hauled in 20 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown this season for New England.
Gordon will be subject to waivers and other teams can put in a claim for him.
